WINNER

As the name suggests, a Win bet is a prediction on your selected horse to win the race. Where the other horses finish in the race is not important to the outcome of this bet, you must simply predict the first horse to cross the finish line.

EACH WAY

For some added insurance, you can combine two bets on the same horse into what is called an Each Way bet. You will need to pay double for this bet in which half your stake is on the horse to win, and the other half is on it to place (either first, second, or third). 

If your horse wins the race, you win both bets and get a full payout. If it finishes in 2nd or 3rd place, you'll win your Each Way bet but lose your Win Bet. Multiple Each Way bets can also be combined on your betslip as an accumulator.

PLACE

When you bet on a horse to “place,” you are predicting that horse to finish in either 1st or 2nd place. Unlike with an Each Way bet where 3rd place also pays out, Place bets are harder to win but pay more. A Place bet is also a single stake and not a combination of two bets placed together.

SHOW 

The only difference between a Place bet and a Show bet is that when betting on a horse to Show, your horse can finish anywhere in any of the top three positions (1st, 2nd or 3rd). Unlike an Each Way bet, it requires just a single stake and is not a combination of two bets placed together.

EXACTA

TRIFECTA

SUPERFECTA

INSUREBET

Insurebet allows you to insure yourself against your horse finishing 2nd or 3rd. You'll get a full refund if your horse places, but unlike with an Each Way bet, it does not involve combing two bets together. The catch here is that the odds available for Insurebet are slightly lower than betting on the horse to win. 

With Insurebet, you can either insure your horse for three places (for races with 8 or more runners) or two places (for races with 7 or fewer runners).

MATCH BET

This is a bet on one horse versus another. For each of these bets, there will only be one horse to choose from and your selection must beat the other horse regardless of where either horse finishes overall in the field.
