If you've played Super Sic Bo before, Lightning Dice is like a simplified version with fewer betting options but more exciting gameplay. Lightning Dice is a wonderfully simple game, yet the in-studio experience is dramatic and highly entertaining for punters.

How it works is that 3 six-sided dice are dropped into a transparent tower by your friendly presenter. You must predict the total sum of the 3 dice rolled once they come to a standstill at the bottom of the tower. 

Punters can win anywhere from 5x to 150x their stake, and that’s before a lightning multiplier, which can boost your payout up to 1000x your stake!

How Lightning Dice works

1️⃣ When the betting opens, place one or more bets on what the total sum of the three dice rolled will be. You can also bet on a low number, high number, any double or any triple.

2️⃣ When betting is closed, the Lightning Round begins. One or more numbers are struck with multipliers of between 5x and 1000x.

3️⃣ The presenter flicks a switch on the wall which makes the three dice roll down the tower at the same time.

4️⃣ The camera zooms in on the dice as they tumble down the tower and hit the bottom.

5️⃣ A closeup of the dice is shown revealing the winning numbers.

6️⃣ All bets are paid out and the presenter replaces the dice at the top of the tower to start the next round. 

Lightning Dice Multipliers

In each round, after betting has closed, lightning strikes between one and several random numbers on the betting grid which with multipliers of between 5x and 1000x. This feature adds a lot of excitement to the game because if you get a big multiplier on your number, the returns can be massive!

For a lightning number to win you need to have bet on the same number and then that total must get rolled by the presenter. The size of the multipliers you get depends on the number you choose. Rare totals such as 3 and 18 get bigger multipliers than the more common ones like 10 and 11. 

For example, numbers 10 and 11 will receive a maximum multiplier of 50x, whereas numbers 3 and 18 will get boosted between 150x and 1000x.

Lightning Dice Tips and Betting Strategies

Your success playing Lightning Dice will mostly come down to luck, but there are a few tips and strategies that can help improve your chances of winning. Though we also recommend that you come up with your own betting strategy to suit your budget and betting style. 

This is not strictly a tip but one thing to remember when playing Lightning Dice is that the multipliers have a specific range that applies to each number they strike. This means that unless you stake a lot, your chances of winning big are limited to the rare numbers like 3, 4, 17 and 18. 

Here are our favourite Lightning Dice Tips and Betting Strategies:

💡 Go high or low

You have almost a 50% chance of getting a low number (3-9) or a high number (12-18). So place either of these bets to cover many of the possibilities and you'll win about half the time you play!

💡 Play it safe

Bet on numbers 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 or 13. You'll only need to hit one of these numbers every 7 game rounds to break even. But if you end up hitting them more often on average, then you'll make a nice profit. 

💡 Hit for the fences

Put a small stake on the numbers 3 and 18. Although the probability of getting these numbers is low, it's the only way to win 1 000x your bet!

💡 Never "Bet All"

Betting on all the possible numbers is a poor strategy that will just drain your money, even though you'll keep winning. The bets you need to place to cover all 18 numbers will cost more than what you'll win in the long run. This strategy might work for a while if you get a few big lightning numbers but sooner or later, you'll lose all your money.

💡 Spread your risk

Split your bets between common numbers and rare ones. Place one bet on either 10 or 11 and then another bet on numbers 3 or 18. This way you've got a 1/8 chance of winning your first bet paying 5x and a 1/217 chance of winning your second bet which will payout at least 150x!
