What happens if I delete my Betway account?

Once your Betway account has been deleted, you won't be able to place any bets until you request that it be reopened. Once account closure is confirmed, your Betway login details will be invalid and you won't be able to access to your account.

If you want to reopen your account, simply contact Betway Customer Support and make your request. Depending on how recently you requested your account to be closed, there might be a waiting period before your account can be reopened.

Set deposit limits to control your spending

When used correctly, deposit limits can help you spend within your means and can be a better alternative to closing your betting account altogether. Unfortunately, Betway South Africa does not offer these gambling controls but many other bookmakers do.

Betting sites like Gbets, Sportingbet and BET.co.za allow you to set deposit limits to control how much you spend on betting. Set a daily, weekly or monthly deposit limit you're comfortable with and once you reach the limit you will be prevented from depositing more funds into your betting account.

In support of responsible gambling, if you request an increase of your deposit limit, this will only come into effect after 24 hours. However, you can cancel an increase request at any time. For your safety and protection, any time you choose to decrease your deposit limits, the change will take effect immediately.

Betway Self-Exclusion

If you want to take a prolonged break from betting altogether, self-exclusion (account closure) is another way to delete your Betway account. This is something that can be requested from Betway Customer Support.

Please note however, that requesting self-exclusion is a very serious step, and you won't be able to change your mind after making such a decision. After requesting self-exclusion, you'll have no choice but to wait until the self-exclusion period is over before reopening your account, so think carefully about it!

The Betway self-exclusion options available to players are:

Cooling-Off: Your account will be closed for at least 24 hours.

Temporary Suspension: Your account will be closed for at least 1 month.

Self-Exclusion: Your account will be closed for at least 3 months.

Permanent Self-Exclusion: Your account will be permanently closed and you won't be able to re-open it.

How to reopen your Betway account after self-exclusion

Only once the Betway self-exclusion period has expired, can you request for your account to be reopened. Your account will NOT be automatically reopened after your self-exclusion period is over, you must contact Betway Customer Support to make your request.

How can I see if I'm winning or losing on Betway?

Information regarding your account can be viewed by logging into Betway. Click the "Account" tab and thrn select "Transaction Summary". Here you can find details about your account balance and gambling history which includes bet amounts, wins, losses, deposits, withdrawals and other transactions.

What happens to my account balance when I close or self-exclude?

If you request a permanent self-exclusion, customer support will contact you to return the remaining funds in your account. Otherwise, the funds will remain in your account for you to use once it has been reopened.
