Which Slots Pay the Most in South Africa? How to Use RTP and Slot Volatility To Your Advantage
When we play Spina Zonke games on Hollywoodbets, the big question we always have is, when exactly will the game payout?
But if we knew the answer to that, it would be far too easy to win! The good news though, is that RTP and slot volatility are things we can quickly check to see if games are actually worth playing or not.
You can see the full list of Spina Zonke games available on Hollywoodbets here.
We have already explained RTP here and volatility here in lots of detail, but for this article, we'll just quickly recap how these work and then recommend some of the best slot games to play in South Africa.
What is RTP and why does it matter?
RTP means Return to Player, and refers to the amount you can expect to get back from the casino as an average after playing the same game millions of times. So if a game has an RTP of 96.5%, it means that for every R100 you bet, you'll get R96.50 back on average.
You're never guaranteed to win more on a game with a higher RTP, but because these games are designed to pay more to players over the long term, it does improve your overall chances of coming out on top.

How to find the RTP of a casino game
The best way to find the RTP of a casino game is often to launch the game and then look for the Information or Help section in the menu.
For Habanero games: Find the RTP by clicking the Information button ('i') at the bottom right of your screen. Then select the "Help" tab in the top right and scroll to the bottom of the page. The RTP will be displayed under a heading called Return to Player (RTP).
For Pragmatic Play games: Find the RTP by clicking the Information button ('i') at the bottom right of your screen. Then Scroll down to "Game Rules" and the RTP will be displayed near the end of this section.
For Yggdrasil games: Find the RTP by clicking the menu button at the bottom right of your screen. Select "Game Rules" and then scoll down to the heading called "Return to Player" where the RTP will be displayed.
What is volatility and why does it matter?
As an example, you can think of volatility as choosing between getting paid a monthly salary or a weekly wage. You either get paid more money less often (high volatility) or less money more often (low volatility).
So if you're the type of punter who doesn't mind risking it all for the chance of a big payout, then high-volatility games are for you. You'll have bigger wins, more bonus features and a more exciting gaming experience.
But if you're the kind of punter who is patient, likes to play it safe and is okay with their account balance going up and down fairly slowly, then low-volatility games are a better choice.

How to find the volatility of a casino game
The volatility of a slot isn't usually displayed on the game menu, but you can get this information quite easily online.
For Pragmatic Play games: Pragmatic Play games show the volatility at the bottom of the screen when you load any game on Supabets. To find the volatility of a Pragmatic Play game on Hollywoodbets, click the Information (i) button at the bottom right of your screen and look under "Game Rules".
The volatility of Habanero or Yggdrasil games isn't available on the game menu. Find it by typing the name of the casino game you're playing into Google followed by "Volatility" (e.g. "Hot Hot Fruit Volatility"). All games are classified as either low, medium or high volatility.
